Welcome to Lynwood Elementary School

Our mission is to be an innovative and effective educational environment that provides diverse academic experiences to meet individual student needs and challenges all students to realize their educational potential. We strive to provide our students with both the technology skills and independent thinking that will allow them to succeed in the 21st Century.

Lynwood is an ethnically rich and economically diverse neighborhood school with an enrollment of approx. 350 students. We offer a wide variety of educational and enrichment programs to meet the needs of all of our students from self-contained, 4th and 5th grade Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) classes to English Language Development classes as well as drama, music and our popular after-school program, LEAP.

Our teachers and staff are dedicated to providing students with the skills and knowledge that they need to go to College. A 'no excuses' philosophy is emphasized, along with our commitment to a culture of universal achievement in which every child, without exception, becomes proficient in reading, math and written language by grade three.

We look forward to partnering with you to ensure the success of all of our children.

If our Dual-Immersion roll-out plan is approved in the spring of 2017, we would be due to launch the program in August 2018 for TK and 1st Graders!

If you have a TK student enrolling this fall (August 2016) or a child who will be enrolling in TK or Kinder in the 2017-2018 or 2018-2019 school year (or later), click here to learn more about our aspirations for converting Lynwood to a fully Dual-Immersion (Spanish/English) school!
